The Millbrae Art & Wine Festival
, renown as one of the Bay Area’s biggest Labor Day weekend events, will showcase top, up-and-coming artistic talent this year with a new attraction called the “Rising Star Showcase”.

“We’re hoping to attract a wide variety of performers, from singers, bands and dancers, to improvisational comedians and maybe even poets,” said Rising Star Showcase visionary and producing director Steve Bajor of Team Pro Event.

A youth talent show produced by Ken Kelly Productions and Team Pro Event, the event will be held on the Kids’ Stage during both days of the festival, September 4-5, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. The Kids’ Stage is presented by First National Bank and South San Francisco Scavenger.

“The Festival Committee is always striving to keep the attractions fresh, interesting and fun,” said John Ford, President of the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce. “The opportunity to provide a venue that will help shine the spotlight on the impressive artistic flair of local youth is something we’re all very excited about,” he said.

“The Bay Area is filled with amazingly talented kids who have not had the opportunity to perform at a major showcase event like the Art & Wine Festival,” said Kelly, owner of his own talent agency, Ken Kelly Productions. The Rising Star Showcase will give them a forum to do what they love most — getting on stage and performing for a big crowd.”

“We’re hoping to attract a wide variety of performers, from singers, bands and dancers, to improvisational comedians and maybe even poets,” said Rising Star Showcase visionary and producing director Steve Bajor of Team Pro Event. “This will be a thrilling opportunity for the stars of tomorrow to perform today before a live audience.”

All ages are welcome to apply. The application deadline is August 15.
