Community Stage Shows Mountain View’s Got Talent
The Community Stage in Kids’ Park is back! After a two year hiatus, a magnificent array of talented, young performers will strut their showstopping stuff in front of a live audience at this year’s Mountain View Art & Wine Festival, September 10-11.
“The Community Stage provides new and exciting talent from around the Bay Area a high-profile opportunity to do what all performers love to do: get in front of a live audience,” said Katrina Apilado, programs and events manager for the Chamber of Commerce Mountain View. “We’ll be showcasing fabulous, emerging, new talent in our ‘Mountain View’s Got Talent’ style showcase.”

Saturday’s lineup includes The Streets Filled With Talent Band, eight middle school girls (and one 5th grade boy on Saxaphone) who play pop songs that all will recognize and a few originals too. Ernie Reyes’ West Coast World Action Team is a high-energy performance featuring drill team precision, acrobatics, unique fight scenes, comical skits, and creative forms, all choreographed to dynamic music. The team is a perfect blend of traditional and modern day martial arts entertainment. Learn the art and feel the joy of hula hooping! Choi Tse of Hoop Party will be providing a fun-filled hula hooping experience with performances, demos and activities. Choi, a member of the famed Spark hoop team and renowned hoop teacher will be demonstrating hooping techniques and sharing hoop skills and tricks using the waist, shoulder, arm and legs. Saturday’s lineup also features the magnificently talented Hip-Hop Dancers; Smorgaschord, an all-you-can-sing, six-part a cappella group; and the fascinating Tango Dancers, bringing their beautiful form of Argentinian tango to the festival.
Sunday’s lineup features vocal performances by theatre students from San Jose State University; a skilled group of students from Collette Martial Arts doing demonstrations and specially-designed karate; dance, tumbling, and gymnastics demonstrations by the energetic crew from The Little Gym of Mountain View; an encore performance by the talented Hip-Hop Dancers; and performances by VivAsia showcasing Asian dance styles, props and popular high energy music. Their dance rhythms include bhangra, bollywood, ribbon dance, fan dance, drum dance and k-pop.
The Community Stage is located in the Wells Fargo parking lot at Church and Castro.
Special gratitude and thanks to all of our performers for making our Community Stage a spectacular reality. BRAVO!!!
